ACTIVITIES
WEEKLY FIGURE DRAWING WORKSHOPS
During the semester we host weekly figure drawing workshops, providing virtual references for online viewers and live model sessions on-site. Most are quick timed poses, intended to stretch our drawing muscles even in the heat of the semester. However, the best part about it is hanging out with each other and showing off our current projects!
STUDY GROUPS
This happens frequently, and gives us a chance to get together and work on our own projects in each other's company! Students can come to get help with their homework, or share personal art projects for feedback and assistance. There is no shortage of laughs during our study groups, as members often share stories and fun pet pictures!
SKETCH CRAWLS
We love to partake in local sketch crawls. In this virtual age we join a great Drawaholic friend, Christopher Canga, in his virtual events with his Global Sketch Crew. Sketch crawls are going to a place – be it a park, museum, or train station – with a sketchbook and drawing what you see! This gives members a chance to explore mediums and techniques while having fun. GSC Shwag is available here: https://society6.com/sketchyrider
LECTURES AND DEMOS
This area is still developing and we have many exciting ideas to bring to fruition. During the Weekly Workshops a leader will be in the HotSeat and drawing live for attending members. Feedback sessions during the weekly workshop and study groups often include demonstrations and mini-lectures. If you would like to be a guest speaker, visit our Support Page for more details.
DISCORD AND TWITCH
Our members and Leaders frequent the Drawaholics Discord server, whether it’s sharing things with the group, getting help in the feedback lounges, or discussing a Watch Party; or what we call, Movie Nights! A handful of the Leaders also frequent Twitch and share both art and game time.
